Who is Attorney Southern Belle?
One day, this tiny brown skin little girl from Shreveport, Louisiana learned to read and write when she was just three years old and when she was just five years old, she was writing in cursive. She was so obsessed with writing that she clowned her mother in a Wal-Mart over a Lisa Frank Diary and needless to say, she didn’t get the diary. However, the very next day, her Grandfather brought her the diary after hearing how “hurt” she was over the diary. She was about six or seven years old at that time and that is when her passions began to bloom. The little brown skin girl was so skilled at writing, that any time she got in trouble with her parents or grandparents, she would write a letter to argue her point. Eventually, she would get her privileges back. She always loved writing anything…but since she could write her way out of situations persuasively, she decided that she wanted to become an attorney and help others with their situations….So who is she? She is Attorney SouthernBelle.
Attorney SouthernBelle is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. She is a licensed attorney in the State of Louisiana. She received her Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from The Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University on May 29, 2015. She was admitted to the practice on October 22, 2015. More, recently in August of 2017, she received her Masters of Science in Organizational Development from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. She was the first attorney ever to go through the curriculum for the degree at Abiliene Christian University. While she loves everything about the law and the practice of the law, her true passion has always been writing, whether it’s a poem, article, short essay, stageplay or screenplay she can do it. She received her Bachelors of Arts in English-Creative Writing from Louisiana State University on May 18, 2012.
She currently manages her own businesses including this blog and her own small firm. She is a three-time published poet and is currently working on several writing projects.
Attorney SouthernBelle enjoys a plethora of hobbies including baking to which she is famous for Honeybun Cakes, traveling, reading, speaking publicly to others, spending time with her Mini Australian Shepherd affectionately called Music, and spending time with her family. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, The Baton Rouge Bar Association, The Louis A. Martinet Legal Society—Baton Rouge Chapter, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Most of you may be wondering how she got the name Attorney SouthernBelle. Being that she is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana which might as well be considered the State of Texas, she has a really cute southern draw and when she speaks although soft-spoken, you automatically know she means business. She is soft-spoken but powerful. When her co-worker met her on the first day, they were amazed by her voice and her sassiness so much so that one of her co-workers, LJ, named her Attorney SouthernBelle which has stuck with her since 2016.
